If darts could hang in the Tate Modern, these beauties from thedartist.co.uk would be right up there between a Banksy and a Turner. Shaped like a painter’s brush, with a dart point rather inconveniently stuck to the end, they are undeniably a visual masterpiece. The three-tone barrel design is a delight, and the overall craftsmanship is superb – exactly why I ordered them in the first place.
Grip-wise, on a scale of 1 to 5, I’d give them a solid 2—enough to hold onto, but not as grippy as a cat on a curtain that some prefer. As for the original stems and flights, I’ll have to take a rain check on those, as I didn't use them – but they certainly look the part.
Now, here's the rub. For me, they’re either too light or too front-heavy for my throw—or, more likely, my throw is too amateurish for them. Either way, rather than becoming my go-to darts, they’ll be taking pride of place in my vitrine, ready to impress guests and serve as an excellent conversation starter. And, of course, should anyone fancy a few throws, they’re welcome to test their artistry with them.
A stunning set of darts, but sadly, I won’t be painting any masterpieces with them at the oche.
Very unique darts at a great price
The gripping point behind the paint brush head is perfect for players like me who prefer front weighted darts.
My fears with this darts were that they wouldn't fly as stable as my other sets and that they wouldn't fit close together. Both fears vanished after the first few rounds. The Paint Brush darts fly stable almost as my Winmau Hi-Impact and you can stick them tightly together into one target, The Bull's Eye for example.
All in all they are on their way to become my favourite darts set.
The only thing I could criticise are the stems. The flights on one dart became loose quite often. But that's nothing a quick change of stems couldn't fix (I've got enough spare black stems and coincidently of the same length as the original ones).
The Paint Brush darts still get 5/5 thumbs up. :)
Thanks again for these nice darts and the good customer service.
Best regards from Germany,
Stefan
When you hold these darts for the first time, you will notice how beautiful they are. You cannot help but be captivated by the fine details that have been considered in order to create a dart that is very pleasing to the eye, as well as being true to its name - the paintbrush.
And then when you start to throw them you'll notice the degree of thought that has gone into creating a dart that flies beautifully through the air, is well-balanced, grips well, and hits the target reliably.
This is a one of a kind dart that I absolutely love and have replaced my well-loved match darts with.
Highly recommended! Support this brilliant artist and get yourself a set. They're incredible!!
